Could you imagine a more inspiring, beautiful and tranquil setting than the rolling hills of Tuscany in Italy? Add a Grand Mansion with historic roots, private pool, world famous cooking and wine and more to see and do on day trips to Florence, Pisa and Sienna than you can do in a week...and what do you end up with? A totally indulgence of all your senses. See, that's a holiday! And it doesn't just appeal to holidaymakers. These houses are not just fabulous for family gateherings, but is certainly also suitable for courses, Think Tanks etc.  Imagine bringing your Italian student, your art students or the friends that you normally bicyle with. It's a brilliant place to ride a bike!

Enjoy browsing the luxurious old houses with four poster beds, antique furniture - oozing ambiance with room for 12 - 30 people and very affordable, when you calculate the price per person. I have done it for a few of the houses, calculated how much they are per person per week or per person per night and that gives a different perspective...chek it out!
However, be aware that these houses are quit popular and are often rented out a year in advance, so unless you are lucky you will have to plan ahead....

Centro Storico | Rome City Center

The Centro Storico is the best known area of Rome, this is where you find the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, the Vatican City and the Colosseum and much more.

Centro Storico is bordered by the Aurelian Walls and by the Janiculum walls (Mura Gianicolensi), which include the Vatican walls. Centro Storico simply refer to the historic center of Rome, and this is where most people prefer to stay, while visiting Rome. However Centro Storico consists of 22 riones (neighborhoods), so we to have had a closer look at Prati and Trastevere, which are two of them.

If you can choose your time of vacation, go for April, May or late September to visit Rome, as June , July and August are extremely hot. The winter month are also an option, just be aware that many attractions close down during winter - or cut down on their opening hours.

Prati | Rome

The Prati district, situated just northeast of the Vatican City, is a good place to stay in Rome, as it offers affordable hotels, shopping and a fabulous food scene.

The Eternal City, which in fact is an independent state, is however, in everyday life, just another neigh-bourhood in the Italian capital and it is only walking distance from Prati - waiting to be explored.

People flock to Rome from all over the world to see the Vatican City. You can choose from several different guided tours to the Vatican City, the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and you can even book aPapal Audience Ticket.

Prati is the 22nd rione of Rome and one of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in the city.

Trastevere is the 13th rione of Rome, on the west bank of the Tiber, south of Vatican City, and within Municipio I. Trastevere means “across the Tiber river.”

The neighbourhood was once a working-class area, but has now been renovated to please a more middle class taste.

Trastevere
remains one of Rome’s most colorful quarters, in spite of all the changes it went through, when discovered by bohemians and expats in the 1970s.

Today Trastevere is a lively area with informel, small Italian restaurants, dance clubs, street vendors and tour buses.

The Italian property market in 2013

22/7/2013

This article was provided exclusively for Finca Fantastica Travel By TheMoveChannel.com Italy

Market overview

It’s hard to imagine Italy’s property market ever losing its appeal. The warm climate, amazing cuisine, lovely coastlines and wealth of culture is enough to draw in any holiday home hunter. Even with the recession still taking casualties in Europe, Italy has seen international sales increase, according to figures from Scenari Immobiliari. Indeed, the country is a firm favourite among buyers on overseas property portal TheMoveChannel.com, always ranked in its 10 most popular countries.
Falling prices have drawn a wide range of nationalities into the market, with German investors accounting for 40 per cent of activity, followed by British buyers (18 per cent) and Russians (13 per cent). As sellers become more flexible on their asking prices, Italian homes are increasingly affordable for those from abroad.
The market has struggled in recent months following the government’s austerity measures designed to decrease the national debt, but the Prime Minister’s decision to suspend the controversial property tax (introduced by the previous ruling party) in June 2013 is a promising sign that the housing market is in safe hands.
From the buzzing cities of Rome and Milan to the beauty of Venice and Florence and the relaxing lifestyle of Tuscany, no matter the global financial climate, Italy’s La Dolce Vita will always taste sweet.

Most popular hotspots

The most popular region in Italy for property purchases is Abruzzo, accounting for one quarter of enquiries on TheMoveChannel.com. Lombardy is close behind, receiving 17 per cent of enquiries. But while Abruzzo’s low prices and Adriatic coastline attract many buyers, the majority of house hunters turn to other regions first, such as the star-studded Liguria or the coastal Apulia.
Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence are all highly sought-after destinations and need no introduction.
These are some of the other most popular property hotspots in Italy, ranked by their number of searches on TheMoveChannel.com:

Portofino
A fishing village on the Italian Riviera, Portofino has transformed over the years into a celebrity hotspot. Wayne Rooney got hitched there, while Rihanna enjoys vacationing in the area.
The picturesque harbour and beautiful old buildings combine to create a tiny slice of history and holiday hotspot. Beaches, churches, high-end villas; there’s more to spot in Portofino than famous people.

Lake Como
Over the years, Lake Como has become synonymous with George Clooney. Its most famous resident, the movie star has owned a villa on the shore of the picture-perfect lake for a long time - and who can blame him? Many wealthy buyers are attracted to places such as Menaggio, Argegno and Como thanks to the area’s jaw-dropping scenery, stable property prices, pleasant climate and famous reputation. Known around the world, Lake Como only seems to get more attractive with age. Not unlike George Clooney.

Viareggio
Located on the Tuscan Riviera, Viareggio is a coastal city that has gained a strong following among tourists and home buyers alike. The area developed its reputation as a seaside resort in recent decades as development combined with scorching summers to attract investors. Indeed, the area boasts over 270 days of sunshine every year.
