Christ Church on the lively South Coast is where Barbados Windsurfing World Cup is held every year in January at Silver Sands. It is also where you find a concentration of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and are able to dance to calyso and soca music long into the night.
St. Michael
In St. Michael Parish you will find Bridgetown - the capital of Barbados. Bridgetown is a charming city with old colonial buildings, a natural harbour and good shopping opportunities - including duty free shopping - on Broad Street.
Bridgetown is not only the capital, it is also the only city in Barbados. In St. George, which is one of the two only parishes with no coastline (St. Thomas being the other one) you can see rolling sugar cane fields. In St. Thomas you can visit the unique Harrison's Cave.
St Joseph on the east coast is the place to find the cheapest accommo-dation. It is also a popular place for surfers - just like St. Philip and St. Lucy.
St. Andrew is home to the highest point in Barbados, Mount Hillaby at 1100 feet. In St. Andrew you can visit "The Pottery Village" and have a look at the local art and crafts.
