The City of Ghosts
- That´s what the Spanish call Acebuchal.
The foreign residents call it The Lost Village or The Abandoned
Village.
It was deserted for almost 50 years...but recently the village has
come to life again, the old pueblo-houses are being carefully
restored..and there is a charming little tapas bar where you can
get delicious refreshments when you visit.
Acebuchal is situated about 50 km east of Málaga.
To get to Acebuchal leave the village of Frigiliana and go up in
the mountains towards Torrox...at the old Frigiliana - Torrox road.
Approximately 2 km outside of Frigiliana, to your right is a little
wooden sign showing the way to
Acebuchal. (Visitors starting from Torrox Pueblo: just reverse the
directions).
The nature is beautiful and it´s well worth a visit.
